Topographic Anatomy collects a number of preparatory and companion pieces to Flow, 1944. It includes plaster casts, etchings and drawings produced from a measured survey performed on Mt Vesuvius.

Red wool yarn was arranged on site, forming a grid from which a topographic map of the immediate landscape could be drawn.
