Feather-light and transparent, this series draws from techniques traditionally used in Japan for the recording of ancient tombstones. Fine sheets of kōzo paper are dampened and worked into a surface, in order to take an impression that can be later peeled off.

The thin paper permits light to pass through, leaving an impression on plates prepared with a photosensitive gelatine emulsion.
